Imagine if you were 14-years-old... and homeless? They are like shadows in our cities, small outlines of skin and bones that attach themselves to abandoned buildings, park benches, narrow alleyways. And when darkness falls, these shadows disappear into places many of us will never, ever see in this lifetime. Very few people know the faces of these shadows, or their names. They are America's untouchables and unreachables -- America's street children. Who exactly are these kids? How do they end up on our streets? Where do they come from? How do they manage to survive? Do they survive? These are their incredible stories, told from the front lines on America's darkest streets... MORE TO COME!! our hearts is sick with who we see on the streets of our wonderful nation. 100s of kids in every big city , lost , forgotten , no one cares!! The young boy said , "I heard you can help me, could you give me a sandwich, and Ill be out of your hair, I dont want to get in your way!" we feel we must do something more to help. Therefor we have opened our home page , with the idea , that we can do more for them,TOGETHER! The shelters for youth here are full. Many are turned away. Some places do not have youth shelters at all! They must be 18 to stay at a shelter. Therefore we have started a network of shelters . These undergound, "Boys Islands", are coming together. All over the world.Men and Women, who go to the streets. And find those that they can help. We are looking for persons ,that will open their homes,as a No questions asked, place of warmth and understanding, If only for one night! If there`s any way you can help ,email me please! THE Runaway and Homeless Youth Shelters offers short-term housing for runaway, homeless, and other troubled youth (ages 11-17). Individual, group, and family counseling is provided to restore family ties when possible, and to stabilize the lives of homeless youth to avoid victimization from street life. WE have seen many kids under 11 on the streets! If you would like to help these kids, please see the page on "Getting Involved" |
